Week 6 concludes with many teams still wrapping up a few loose ends. Teams are still trying to perfect themselves before playoffs, and Week 6 matchups were crucial in determining how ready teams are for playoffs. The competition is astonishingly high as squads compete for seeding. Who came out on top?

DwH vs Insanity

DwH continues to play hard each week. Week 6 marked their third straight week with double digit runs and have scored a combined an unbelievable amount of 41 runs over this span. DwH has some mometum under their belt and is poised to pull off upsets in the playoffs. However, in order for that to happen, their offense will need to continue to come up big in late innings.

Insanity falls to 1-5 on the season and is tied for Rage with the worst record in the West. This team, while seemingly built on offense, continues to fall apart each week as their pitching gets hammered. Clearly, their 3 game losing streak has had something to do with pitching-manager Killerboy and “fake” MVP Takeseats have combined to give up an average of 14 runs per game over the past 3 weeks. Things do not look good for Insanity, and they are bound to be one of the first teams eliminated in the playoffs.

Final Score: 13-8 DwH

Player of Game: TBA

Empire vs FlightNL

This matchup might be a preview of the West finals. Both teams are built on great offense and outstanding pitching. Who held the upper hand?

Apparently Flight did. A leadoff homerun by Pete998 gave Empire a stong start against ElDuque but Flight came back. Papi capped off a six run first inning with a grandslam. DCurt25 also had an incredible game, homering in the 2nd and 4th to give Flight an 11-2 lead.

Yet Empire fought back. MelkyNYY had two homeruns, including a 3-run shot that made the score 11-6. FIRE911 pitched a scoreless fifth, surrondering only a hit. A two-run homerun by KMAN made the score within reach for Empire. Sadly, Empire was not able to pull off the comeback. A hit by Melky proved to be in vain as the game would end with a double play. A liner by Pete to AI 1B doubled up Melky at first to end the game.

FlightNL remains undefeated and will look to cap off their perfect season Tuesday against Rotowire. As for Empire, they will need to take this loss and hope they can learn from tneir mistakes. Another disappointing perfomance by former 3-time MVP Kidnasty might be cause to blame as he went 1-1 with some costly defensive errors. As for the reason, he claims he was texting on his Sidekick while playing right field. At least he wasn’t eating a cheeseburger.

Final Score: 11-9 FlightNL

Player of Game: DCurt25 6-7 2 hrs

Rotowire vs Carnage

This game proved to be a low scoring game. Dominating perfomances by both pitchers proved to be the difference late in the game.

BenyDJet started off things early for Rotowire with a 2 out solo homerun off starting pitcher Megatron. However, Carnage would come right back with a solo homerun from Smith.

Things stayed scoreless until MVP candidate Skoal hit another homerun, this time bringing in two runs to put the score in favor of Rotowire.

A solo homerun by klemens gave Carnage some hope. Trailing by only one run in the bottom of the sixth, Carnage managed to get the bases juiced for Smith. Unfortunately for Carnage, Smith flew out to the wall to end the game. Boget picked up the win, as he pitched a complete game.

For Rotowire, they are putting on a show each week. Now 4-2, Rotowire is poised to take over the playoffs-that is if they manage not to choke again. However, it seems Rotowire has traded in their previous dominance into more consistancy. This difference in play might prove to be the deciding factor come playoff time. For Carnage, they do have some problems to work on. Obviously, the thing that hurt them the most against Roto was their inability to get on base. Their offense is hurting right now, and players will need to step up their game quickly.

Final Score: 3-2 Rotowire

Player of Game: Boget 6 IP 2 ER

Rage vs TechWest

Rage came just short of picking up their second win losing by just one run. Things are also not looking good for Rage, as their inability to play solid defense seems to be the deciding factor in games. Add to that to a questionable offense and only one pitcher and that pretty much describes Rage.

TechWest started off the season hot but have exhibited signs of slowing down. While they managed to win their first two games, including a decisive victory against Empire, they fell and ended up on a 3 game skid. TechWest did defeat Rage but will need to have more consistency in order to win in the playoffs.

Final Score: 9-8 TechWest

Player of Game: TBA

TechEast vs Ambition

TechEast has had its up and downs this seasons but one thing has remained consistant for them. Their pitching prospect, Sandman7, had emerged as a possible All-Aces candidate. As for Ambition, they have not managed to win consistantly but continue to learn from their losses. This is a yoing and mostly inexperienced team, with NlaLoosh being the prime example.

Ambition put up yet another valiant effort but fell just short. TechEast struck first, scoring two runs through a series of hits in the top of the first. Ambition fought back with a solo homerun by Mattman in the bottom of the inning to make the score 2-1 in favor of TechEast.

The second inning was scoreless for both teams. NlaLoosh shut down TechEast with a 1-2-3 inning.

Ambition not only shut down TechEast in the top of the third but took the lead as well. A 3-run homerun by h0w gave Ambition a small lead.

ABSmoke woke up the offense for TechEast in the top of the fourth. A 2-run shot by the TechEast right fielder was proceeded by a couple of gap shots, one of which was a 2 run double by Baptiste that made the score 7-4. Baptiste eventually homered in the top of the fifth to make the score 9-4.

Ambition managed to start a small rally in the bottom of the sixth, making the game within reach at 9-7. With runners on the corners with 2 outs. h0w represented the winning run at the plate. He would hit a moonshot to the warning track to end the game.

TechEast picks up their fourth win. If their offense can continue to thrive, Sandman7 should continue to have a comfortable lead. This will be crucial for TechEast in the playoffs. They must give Sandman offensive support. As for Ambition, defense failed yet again. Their offense and pitching seem to be in sync but defensively they are nowhere close to coherance. This makes Ambition a team that will likely be eliminated in the first round of playoffs.

Final Score: 9-7 TechEast

Player of the Game: Baptiste 5-5 1 HR 4 RBIs

BigHeros vs Roto NL

BigHeros managed to claim victory against Roto NL, bringing their record to .500 at 3-3. Solid pitching by SupaNova proved to be the difference as he surrendered only 4 runs. BigHeros, despite being only 3-3, have pulled off some impressive upsets against Bombers and FlightAL. These wins might only be a fluke but could make BigHeros a possible threat in the playoffs.

Roto NL falls to 0-4…Imma hold off on further analyzing this team cause I want to get everything right…

Final Score: 9-4 BigHeros

Player of the Game: TBA

FlightAL vs Lynx

FlightAL is currently holds the #1 seed in the East and has pretty much secured it. A dynamic team filled with a veteran offense, FlightAL ripped apart Lynx.

To start the game, ZachAtack and Puddles hit back to back homeruns to give Flight an early adavantage 2-0. A grandslam by YardDog in the top of the second made the score 6-0. A two-out RBI by Tubby86 in the bottom of the second put Lynx on the board.

Flight continued to put on the beating, Back to back homeruns by YardDog and DrDeath to start the top of the third made the score 8-1 Flight. Puddles would also add his second homerun of the game with a 2-run shot. DrDeath also had his second homerun in the game with a 2-run shot as well. 12-1 Flight.

A scoreless third for Lynx gave Flight more chances to score. After a two-out hit by Zach, Puddles was walked (one of two intentional walks) only to have rbush smash a homerun. 15-1 Flight. RBIs by rbush and YardDog would cap off the scoring for FlightAL. 17-1 FlightAL entering the bottom of the sixth.

Lynx attempted to put up a fight but the deficit was just too much. A two run homerun by xXBRAVOXx attempted to make up for some of the damage but D3thklokwould close out the game, pitching two innings and giving up only two runs.

Flight’s offense exploded and if they explode in the playoffs, it will be impossible for any team to even come close to beating this team. This team is filled with many offensive weapons-not to mention former All-Aces winner DrDeath.

Lynx continues to have poor success in their first elite league. They will obviously need some better pitching by Tubby and Bravo in order to even stand a chance in the playoffs.

Final Score: 17-3 FlightAL

Player of the Game: YardDog 2 HRs 6 RBIs

Bombers vs D Rays

Bombers has been struggling the past two weeks as they have faced a couple of tough teams. Could they defeat D Rays?

Well, obviously yes. ChungFX proved to be the frontrunner offensively and on the mound. Chung not only helped his own cause with a solo homerun, he proved to be very effective pitching, going 5 innings and giving up just one run on a solo homerun by KeenanG. TheMan had 2 homeruns and 3 RBIs and Juddd, gimmepie, and iPwn each homered as well. IPwn pitched a scoreless sixth to give the Bombers the easy win.

Final Score: 7-1 Bombers

Player of the Game: ChungFX 5 IP 8 H 1 ER; 2-4 1 HR 1 RBI

Win or lose FlightAl has probably secured top seeding in the East playoffs and baring miracles will play the D Rays in the first round. Bombers are pretty much ensured to face Ambition. Assuming no alien invasion, the winner of BigHeros vs TechEast should play Roto NL (the loser will play Lynx).

This makes BigHeros vs TechEast, the Chronicle “game of the night” in the East.

BigHeros vs TechEast

The air will be thick with suspense as Biggio, Molholt, Nhr and Hero bring Bigheros high powered offense face to face with the All Aces Candidate (and the East ERA leader) Sandman7.

Baptiste, DIESELUSA, ABSmoke and 0 will be under pressure to increase their offensive production. That may be easier said then done with “TechEasts Beast” gatyopin2 often chained to some pole somewhere.

The winner of this game should play Roto NL in the playoffs. Bigheros offense has scored 51 runs in 6 games, the second highest in the East. TechEast is short on offensive bench strength and apparently the hitting slump monster has bitten most people in the Tech clubhouse.

Players to Watch For:

BigHeros

Supernova will need to keep TechEast off balance. It is not enough for Baptiste and Sandman to catch fire. Supernova can win the game by keeping the rest of Techs batting order flailing.

TechEast

Sandman7 has an All aces award up for grabs and a win will ensure he gets it. ABsmoke and DieselUSA will need to dump the jitters and lead an offense breakout. The Hitting Slump Monster might be seen in this game.

DrDeaths’s Prediction: 5-3 BigHeros

!PESTO!’s Take:

“There is no doubt that this will be Techeasts game, Sandman7 will step up to the challenge and secure his all aces award seeing as Bigheroes is a strikeout friendly team. I believe this game is going to start and end in Sandman7’s hand as BigHeroes will not be able to handle what he is going to dish out. Techeasts bats will need to step up so should Sandman7 make any slight mistakes, it could still cost him the game.

Players to Watch For:

Bigheroes- Molholt- If his computer can’t handle the game this week it could hurt Bigheroes offensively, so every1 pop a squat and see if the game crashes in the first inning.

TechEast-Sandman7- As i previously stated this game is on his shoulders as he is backed up by a pretty much dormant monster of an offense.”

!PESTO!’s Prediction 7-5 TechEast

Roto NL vs FlightAL

Last week the Chronicles prediction had Roto NL beating BigHeros. We have to respect everything Fire911 does for us (I love his previews). However, the question was what ganja weed was Fire911 exposed to prior to making his prediction that Roto NL would beat Bigheros in the 6th round?

It’s true that RotoNL scored 10 runs versus both Drays and Ambition. However, Nubexpress, Hazed, hrpower and Day will all need to tee off vs Flight to have a chance to topple FlightALs top ranked offense (tops in either league).

NubXPRESS and Pestos pitching and defense have been RotoNLs biggest asset in 2008-3. But FlightALs offense lead by Puddles, randyp4nt, Zachatack and Yarddog have eaten similar pitchers whole for lunch. DrDeath (second lowest ERA in either league) needs to keep RotoNL at 6 runs or less and FlightALs offense should do the rest.

Players to Watch For:

Roto NL

Hazed, Day and BigSwol will need to get the ball out of the park and score more then 8 runs to have a chance. Pesto will have his hands full with the leagues highest run producing offense.

FlightAL

DrDeath, undefeated on the mound, should keep the game in hand. Yarddog, Zachatack and Flights MVP candidate Poodles will look to put pressure on Pesto early.

DrDeaths’s Prediction: 9-5 FlightAL

Lynx vs D Rays

This game doesn’t mean much in the standings. However, a Lynx win will give them a respectable 4-3 in regular season. More importantly a blow out could give EWade, Wendigo, Hugebat and xXBRAVOXx momentum. Lynx got blown out by FlightAL last week but has a chance to do the blowing out themselves this week.

The D Rays have scored 1 run in each of their last 2 games. MASIMO has not been able to keep opposing batters under control. KeenanG and HAVERFORD have been unsuccessful in igniting offensive explosions.

Players to Watch For:

Lynx

Lynx really are the sleeper pick this league. Manager EWade (having suffered some kind of factor revolt this week) will need to refocus this team, blow out the D Rays and take a winning record into the playoffs. This will go a long way to appeasing the factor gods.

D Rays

The Drays are a puzzle. In Pug the Drays rip it up. However, the real problem is pitching and defense. The Drays team ERA so far in league is 20.5.

DrDeaths’s Prediction: 8-3 Lynx

!PESTO!’s Prediction 5-2 Lynx

Ambition vs Bombers

Of course the Bombers will win right? Bombers last week broke out of their 2 game slide with some Dray humping action. Cunning finally seems in top shape and ThePope is back in the driver’s seat. The Bronx Bombers appear ready to roll into the playoffs with an attitude.

H0w (manager of Ambition) has heaped praise on NLaLoosh. Certainly Ambition has turned their season around. But it’s not shown in the win column. Ambition has lost the last 3 games by just 2 runs and that’s to some good teams. To put it simply Ambition can take Cindy to the dance, but can they get ever get past 3rd base?

Players to Watch For:

Bombers

Look to see BigJuddd and gimmiepie power the Bomber offense. Cunning will break out finally. ThePope is back and should help stabilize the Bombers pitching situation.

Ambition

H0w will need to provide his veteran leadership again Tuesday. NLaLoosh will be severely tested versus some very powerful hitters. Ambition can hang with anyone. This will be an acid test for NLaLoosh and the Ambition D. They will need Nos and Conman to show.

DrDeaths’s Prediction: Cindys cherry is safe. 11-6 Bombers

!PESTO!’s Prediction 13-11 Bombers

Elite league action has been intense for the past couple of weeks. While some teams have proved themselves worthy of a playoff spot, others are quickly slipping and falling away from the elite league scene. Elite league should continue to be wild and some of the season’s best matchups start Tuesday. Will we see more upsets? Its possible, and some teams will need upsets in order to remain contenders.

TechEast vs Ambition

TechEast, despite winning against D Rays last week, is quickly falling. The last time that offense was able to muster double digit runs was Week Two, and have also been fairly unsuccessful in giving their pitching staff a comfortable lead. TechEast continues to prove week after week that their offense is not as good as many thought it would be. ABSmoke, Baptiste, and Stoneberg have failed to produce consistantly and that itself has been a huge reason for TechEast’s failure to win games. Their win last week did snap their 2 game losing streak and will likely use this as momentum against Ambition.

Ambition suffered a heart-breaking lose last week against Roto NL. Leading for most of the game, Ambition was unable to stop Roto NL from making a late game rally to take the lead in the top of the sixth. However, Ambition still continues to give their best effort each week. As manager h0w reiterates each week in the lobby, NLaLoosh gives Ambition a chance to win each week. Not to mention its close to impossible to have the same calm poise each week as Ambition faces the best teams in elite. Without a doubt it is impressive to see NLaLoosh continue to do his best despite being discouraged. Hopefully, NLaLoosh’s efforts might finally come through against an offense-depleted TechEast.

Players to Watch For:

TechEast

It will be crucial for Baptiste to set the tone early. His bat is impressive in PUG but he needs to carry this success to league now more than ever. Baptiste will also need to encourage his pitcher Sandman7 who continues to impress each game.

Ambition

h0w will need to provide his veteran leadership Tuesday. If he can make the right moves as far as substitutions, and contribute with his bat and glove, he could provide the spark Ambition needs in order to take over this game.

Fire’s Prediction: 9-7 Ambition

BigHeros vs Roto NL

BigHeros is one of those teams that have played well and have shown they are deserving of a playoff spot. BigHeros have pulled off major upsets earlier this season against FlightAL and Bombers. A large reason for these victories has been their offense. Nhr, Molholt, and Her0 have all had their fair share of homeruns and RBIs and have put BigHeros in a spot to perhaps dominate the playoffs. However, let us not forget that this is the same team that lost against D Rays earlier this season. While this may have been just a “bad game,” BigHeros also let an easy victory against Lynx slip from their hands in Week 5. The problem with BigHeros might be as simple as that they are able to win big games but are unable to win the small games. Look for this to be a continuing theme perhaps against Roto NL Tuesday and throughout the playoffs.

Roto NL is currently on a 2 game winning streak, gaining their first win against D Rays 2 weeks ago and beating Ambition by just a small margin last Tuesday. Despite these wins being against the “lower” teams in elite, it is still significant in that it might enable Roto NL to catch fire. However, in order for that to happen, nubXPRESS and Pesto will need to continue to pitch well and hope they can gain some offensive support from HaZed and Day. nubXPRESS’s rusty Scooter will also look to make an appearance and contribute offensively and defensively.

Players to Watch For

BigHeros

SupaNova will need to have a strong pitching performance against Roto NL. Part of the reason for BigHeros’s losses have been weak pitching at the start and end of the game. SupaNova is in position to create a window of opportunity for BigHeros to have some big innings only if he can limit Roto NL from scoring

Roto NL

HaZed has not been able to do much this season for his team. It is critical for Roto NL to jump out early and take the lead and HaZed can assist his team in accomplishing that if he can smash some homeruns.

Fire’s Prediction: 12-9 Roto NL

FlightAL vs Lynx

FlightAL is currently the best team in the East league, defeating Bombers last week to gain sole possession of first place. Part of the reason for their success has been the incredible performances from some of the veteran players, including Puddles who continues to be underrated by many players. Other dominating performances include DrDeath and although he did not pitch last week, is quietly shutting down teams in each of his pitching appearances. Randyp4nt also had a surprise performance last week, blasting 3 homeruns against the Bombers pitching staff. FlightAL continues to play solid week in and week out and it is likely they will finish the season with only one loss.

After starting the season 0-2, Lynx is currently on a three game winning streak, defeating Roto NL, Ambition, and most notable, BigHeros. Lynx has seen contributions from EWade, Wendigo, and Hugebat and xXBRAVOXx continues to have success in pitching, holding opponents to a remarkable average of four runs per game. More important to to Lynx’s success has been their consistancy, managing to keep both their offense and pitching balanced. However, in order for Lynx to win Tuesday, all of their players will need to step up big.

Players to Watch For:

FlightAL

Puddles should have another big game and take over with his powerful bat. Without a doubt his veteran experience has benefited him this league and is yet another reason for FlightAL’s success

Lynx

xXBRAVOXx needs to have another solid pitching performance. The longer he can shut down FlightAL, the better the chance Lynx can score some runs and take over the game.

Fire’s Prediction: 11-4 FlightAL

Bombers vs D Rays

Bombers is currently on a two game losing streak that many would say is due to lack of solid pitching. An elite league favorite, Bombers is struggling at the pitching portion of their game, with ThePope missing last week’s game and will possibly miss Tuesday’s game as well. And in order for Bombers to be successful, they need all three of the pitchers to be dominant. Moreover, offensively Bombers has also been struggling the last two weeks managing to average only five runs per game-an alarming number especially fot this powerhouse offense. In order for Bombers to claim victory once again, they will need to see contributions from BigJuddd, gimmepie, and veteran left fielder Jiraiya.

The D Rays have not been able to do much this season with the exception of just one win. The return of MASIMO has not affected the D Rays mentality as they are now in the middle of a three game skid. A large reason for this losing streak may have to do with the lack of offensive production-the D Rays have only averaged a little more than four runs per game the past three games. KeenanG and HAVERFORD have been unsuccesful in igniting this offense, and as long as they continue to fail, it will be close to impossible for D Rays to win another game during the regular season.

Players to Watch For

Bombers

BigJuddd continues to bring in runs each game and might possibly be the Bombers MVP at this point in the season. If he can bring in runs along with the rest of Bombers, this should be an easy win.

D Rays

MASIMO needs prove why he is an elite pitcher and this will be the game to do it. Depending how long MASIMO is able to shut down Bombers, the D Rays might have a chance.

Fire’s Prediction: 17-5 Bombers

DwH vs Insanity

DwH just continues to put in solid effort each and every week, although many would actually call this “effort” sheer luck. With their inactivity, its hard to believe that their offense has been able to average close to nine runs this entire season. Unfortunately, this team has suffered many heart shattering losses the latest being two weeks ago against Rotowire. Despite taking the lead in the top of the sixth, the “Donuts without Hats” were unable to stop Skoal from hitting a walk-off grand slam to win the game. DwH may have finally caught a break against TechWest last week, scoring eleven runs while holding their opponent to just one run.

Insanity is one of those teams that are falling quickly. Tensions continue to run high each week as many of their players continue to disagree with their manager, Killerboy. Although many of these players are veterans that have played the game for quite awhile, it seems there is not enough team chemistry to have squad function coherantly. This lack of trust has resulted in some poor games, the latest being against FlightNL last week where they gave up 19 runs and was just able to muster one run off a solo homerun by BATMANN. Insanity will continue to struggle if they do not learn how to work together as a team.

Players to Watch For

DwH

Ensferum seems like the only player that actually seems to try every week for this team. Not to mention he has had some impressive offensive performances that have made some games very close. Ensferum should have another great game against the struggling Insanity

Insanity

Its all on Killerboy to make the right calls not only as a manager but as a pitcher. He will need to force his team to unite together in order to defeat DwH

Fire’s Prediction: 16-7 DwH

Empire vs FlightNL

Empire may have finally adjusted to a depleted roster. D1nonly2 and Frogger are officially done for the season with personal problems and Oman has yet to play a regular season game (which will likely change Tuesday). However, judging from the past two weeks, the Empire offense has finally found consistancy, giving their pitchers a plentiful lead in the later innings. Pete998 has been a large reason for this, knocking in at least one homerun the past two games while continuing to play solid defense in right field. MelkyNYY has also been contributing not only as a hitter, but as a manager, working with each of his players in the pursuit of perfection. Additionally, with their victory last week against Carnage, Empire has proven they are the second best team in the West league only to FlightNL.

FlightNL may in fact be perfect. Their spectacular pitching staff continue to prevail each week, remaining effective even against some of the better teams in the West. ElDuque and SmokeOut might be the most dominant duo in league history, with their ability to shut down teams consistantly frighten many teams in the West. However, this combo actually does its worse against Empire. Many Empire players remember Duque as a good friend but immediatley recognize his pitching style. This will likely hurt Duque; nevertheless, it is still significant to remember that Duque does have a personal vendetta against his former team and may look for some type of vengence. Duque does have a competitive spirit that never seems to falter and Tuesday will be no exception.

The long-awaited battle of supremacy between these teams begin Tuesday.

Players to Watch For

FlightNL

SmokeOut will determine if FlightNL wins this game. Depending on how well he pitches and when he is used in the game, SmokeOut can easily be the difference maker. Additionally, if he can continue his remarkable pitching, FlightNL should be able to pull of the victory.

Empire

It is this type of matchup that KMAN always seems to excel in. Another veteran elite pitcher, KMAN will have the same calm and all-knowing poise he has in each and every game. He will need to shut down FlightNL early in order to give Empire a chance to win.

Fire’s Prediction: 6-4 Empire

Rotowire vs Carnage

Rotowire is proving that they are serious about a winning a championship this league, winning two consecutive games against DwH and Rage. They have exploded offensively, having a run differential of +12. Obviously, a large reason for that has been Skoal, who has been carrying that team offensively and pitching-wise. Skoal has also done a fantastic job. His performances have put him in position to snag MVP honors. However, in order for Rotowire to be succesful Tuesday and throughout the playoffs, they will need to see more contributions from Boget, BenyDJet, and EvilPants. All of these veteran players are very capable of stepping up which makes Rotowire a very dangerous team.

Carnage is a team that might begin to fade as the regular season is brought to a close. Losing to Empire last week, the Carnage squad might begin to feel the ill-effects of inactivity. It seems several of Carnage’s players are not playing RBO on a consistant basis and this might account for their poor performance against Empire last week. This team is also full of veterans that know how to win. If Megatron can have a solid game, Carnage can pull of the win.

Fire’s Prediction: 14-11 Rotowire

Numerous members of RBO factor have joined the first annual RBO Factor Fantasy Football league. For bragging rights, 20 of our most football inclined forum members will meet up for a draft tomorrow. What does the Chronicle Predict??!???

The Football Illiterate

1. EduaNYC - Our Dominican friend might actually think we are doing a fantasy baseball draft. The chances of Edua getting a decent pick and KNOWING who to pick are about as good as Joel losing 40-50 pounds.

2. Mattman13 - The chances of anyone under the age of 11 winning a Fantasy Football league are not very good. Mattman might be optimistic about his chances, but realistically, the draft will be at 10 PM eastern, 2 hours past his bedtime. Unfortunately, the Yahoo Auto-Pick is not the way to win a league.

3. Microsoftyork? - I’m guessing this is a random guy who saw the forum and signed up. No Gohome…you will not win this league.

4. Hugebat - Hugebat might actually think he is drafting for the Canadian Football League, and i don’t know about you, but I direct you to this topic: http://rbofactor.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1873 where Hugebat clearly says he is grounded because he fails at High School. Chances of him making the draft are not too good.

5. Fire - Fire is an interesting case of fail. He is so bad at RBO, that his failness might actually carry over to Fantasy Football. Q.Q Fire.

The Most Hype, But will Epic Fail

1. ChungFX - The Asian has the universe aligned for him to win. He’s asian, he is asian, and he is asian. But what will undoubtedly be his demise is his faith in his asian culture. There are not enough asians in the NFL to draft a decent team.

2. Cunning - Cunning is too obsessed with little girls and Selena Gomez to even make this draft. Wizards of Waverly Place DVD set ftw? Have Fun Cunning. You suck.

3. Oman - If I had someone in the same household, I would rig it so one of us would win. Be it by crappy one sided trades or by just throwing a game or two. Unfortunately, the intelligence of FIRE does not allow for this, and OMAN quite frankly will be held back by his epic fail brother.

4. rbush - You would he would have the upper hand because of his name, but rbush is not too good in Fantasy Football Leagues. According to his yahoo history, the highest he has ever finished is 7 out of 12 since 2006, routinely finishing in last place. Go Reggie Go!

5. RubberArm - GM19 seems to fit the stereotype of an average American football fan. Large, raspy voice, with a coors light at hand. Unfortunately, according to his yahoo history, he fails at Fantasy Football. His best finish was 9 out of 10.

The I say I know more than I really know category

1. TheMan - TheMan is a quiet force. Many of us wonder whether or not he truly has a voice. What is undeniable is his ability to point and click. TheMan will make the draft. TheMan will pick good players. TheMan though, will be about average. As a Chicago native, he will pick overrated Bears players and fail. Count on it.

2. ThePope - ThePope is a very smart individual. Asians are awesome. But he is also canadian, hence the fail from being canadian will hold him back. He knows a lot about sports, but unfortunately, he is America’s hat for life.

3. Skoal - His yahoo history is fail, but Skoal seems to know his football. Unfortunately, he might indeed rotochoke his way out of a playoff spot (had to do it lol).

4. Dank - The people who talk most usually start strong, and fizzle near the end. I expect Dank to continue on this great tradition. That and…there is no way in hell the “Goal Line Governors” win anything. Pro Name. Not.

5. Melky - To be honest. He is too pro for his own good. It will backfire and he will draft Michael Vick to be funny and it will cost him.

Eli Manning to David Tyree.

1. HexDemon - Stigma Hax anyone? Fact is, HeX wins everything he is a part of…in RBO. Unfortunately, he will be up there but will fall short. He does not have FoxxFire and Overbay to help him along this time.

2. Dre - This is the American Asian. He is pro at fantasy games and poke. What is his downfall? POKER and WORK!. Dre is a pornstar apparently or he video tapes it or something but he is at a video studio most nights, that and he has a gambling addiction known as pokerstars.com. Sorry Dre. You will be up there, but will fail and be siezed by the IRS.

3. Puddles - I’m not even going to lie…Puddles scares me. At the plate, in fantasy, in anything. Puddles has a resume that dates back to 2001 in fantasy sports. The fact is, he has the experience and the knowledge to win. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure he will fall short seeing as his last few leagues he choked in the finals.

4. Pogo - This is Pogo’s first Fantasy football league. Why do I think he will be up there and have a chance at winning? Pogo hit a walkoff homerun not playing RBO for a week. How much more luck can you have?

The Golden Boy

1. Whos - The Ginger Bread Man. The Nerd of all Nerds. Eric M Coakley. Yes. He will win. He has been in Leagues since he was 9 years old, and he has won 2 fantasy football championships. He has a resume you would not believe and clearly has no life at all. He will show up to draft, he will pick crappy players, and somehow…he will win. Gingy has that irish good luck. Gingy…is your champion.

One of the most important things a team can do in league is to learn and reflect. This article examines each team and what type of success they have had in league thus far. While discussing both positive and negative elements for each team, it is meant to motivate each player to step up for their respective team. This serves as a guide for each team as they continue to quest for a playoff spot.

TechEast (2-1)

Next 2 Games: At FlightAL, vs D Rays

TechEast is having a very nice season thus far. Only in their first elite league season, TechEast has seen solid performances in both pitching and offense. Sandman7 has carried the team in pitching, keeping opponents under double-digit runs in three games this season. Offensively, the combination of Baptiste, ABSmoke, and Stoneberg have given Sandman7 just enough support to squeeze out a win.

“No one expected Sandman7 to be this good,” said TechEast right fielder ABSmoke. “Some people said that we didn’t have any pitchers capable of stepping up and emerging, but so far he has proven that he can hang in the elite league. He can also swing the bat and help his own cause. Holding the vaunted Bombers offense to less than 10 runs was his most impressive feat so far, but unfortunately we didn’t give him any support.
Sandman is confident in the defense behind him and so far we have been very solid. I look for him to continue his fantastic pitching through the rest of the season and to continue swinging a hot bat.”

However, TechEast came off a shocking loss last week against Bombers, scoring 0 runs. It seems the strongest part of TechEast (their offense) is collapsing and pitching is what is enabling this team to win.

Player to Watch For: Baptiste needs to figure out what his team is doing wrong offensively. Offense was TechEast’s initial strong point but that has now shifted to pitching. If Baptiste can correct his team’s mistakes offensively, look for TechEast to continue winning.

Roto NL (0-3)

Next 2 Games: vs D Rays, at Ambition

Roto NL is having a rough start to the season, losing to TechEast, Bombers, and Lynx in three games this season. Its difficult to decide what exactly is wrong with Roto NL since both the offense and pitching have struggled. The combo of nubXPRESS and Pesto is not working out at all as they have combined to give up 39 runs in 18 innings of work-an average of 13 runs per game. With these type numbers, it is close to impossible to win against any opponent.

“We’ve got to step it up. Pitching has been ugly, but yet our offense hasn’t done much, either,” said Roto NL pitcher nubXPRESS. “I wouldn’t count Roto NL out because we certainly have the talent and the tools necessary to win on any given Sunday (too bad we play on Tuesdays). Taking a glass half full approach to this BiGSwolL seems to be in heat and we haven’t even seen HrPower yet. On a good night pitching wise I know we’ll produce (sexually and offensively on the baseball field). And no one forget about my rusty Scooter. Everyone likes a ride on that Scooter.”

As if pitching was not bad enough, the heavily-favored offense of Roto NL has struggled as well. HaZed has not done much at all this season and HrPower, Ozzy, and Tunagob have yet to show up for a game. Therefore, Roto NL is forced to solely rely on manager Day and pitcher nubXPRESS for offensive production. Roto NL needs more than 2 hitters for offensive production and they better hope things change soon as they face D Rays Tuesday in a very crucial matchup.

Player to Watch For: It is essential for HaZed to start bringing in more runs for Roto NL and bat more consistantly. He will need to somehow manage to lead the team and hope the rest of the team can feed of his production.

Lynx (1-2)

Next 2 games: vs Ambition, at BigHeros

Some people might say the Lynx squad has underperformed this season. While their first loss was against a very tough Bombers team, their second loss was a fairly close game that was mainly decided by pitching. Part of the problem with Lynx has in fact been with pitching and defense. Lynx currently has only xXBravoXx pitching this league. While giving up 10 runs in each of the first two games, Bravo showed improvement last week against Roto NL, giving up only 5 runs. Defense has also been shaky for Lynx, as they have committed some errors and missed some crucial plays in each game this season. In order for Lynx to be a playoff team, the pitching and defense needs to strengthed in order to give Lynx’s offense a chance to score.

“I think we were a little nervous the first two games. Our defense was very sloppy and we had inconsistent hitting. There was usually only one or two batters that carried the team,” said EWade, current mananger of Lynx. “Last week was a different story. Everyone contributed in some way whether it being on offense, defense, or pitching.” He went on to say “I believe that if we keep our entire team consistent at the plate, we are a force to be reckoned with. Bravo and Tubby’s pitching is more than efficient to get us through, and our defense is very good when we are on a roll.”

It is also clear Lynx has underperformed offensively as well. While EWade has had a consistant bat each week, it seems the rest of the Lynx offense cannot perform at his intensity. LSU21, Hugebat, and Wendigo are all hitters that have the potential to perform at a very high level and should do better over the next couple of weeks.

Player to Watch For: Hugebat is the only player on Lynx that has had previous elite experience. If he can somehow manage to gain some timely hits and play solid defense, he might be able to lead Lynx to a couple of wins.

Bombers (3-0)

Next 2 Games: At BigHeros, vs FlightAL

Bombers are shaping up to be the best team in the East League. The only undefeated team in the East, the Bronx Bombers has exploded offensively each and every week. Averaging close to 11 runs per week, the Bombers have seen contributions from nearly all of their players including BigJuddd, gimmepie, Jiraiya, and Roguee.

“Honestly, I don’t think we have a best player,” said TheMan, current manager of Bombers. “There isn’t just one guy on the Bombers team that stands out from the rest. Everyone has a bad day but its just so great that when one person has a bad game, theres always somebody else that steps up.”

Bombers also has a solid trio of pitchers as well. ChungFX, ThePope, and iPwn have all been outstanding this season, combinining to hold opponents to a grand total of 11 runs-an average of a little less than 4 runs per game.

The latest pitching performance by ThePope included a complete game shutout against the power hitting lineup of TechEast. Bombers have a very legitimate chance to not just make the playoff, but to go on and win league mainly because of their amazing talent on both offense and pitching.

Player to Watch For: Cunning is probably the only player that has underperformed for Bombers. While his defense is solid as always, his bat has not adjusted well to the pressures of elite league. If Cunning can somehow catch on fire, look for Bombers to certify they are indeed a championship team.

FlightAL (2-1)

Next 2 games: vs TechEast, at Bombers

FlightAL has had a fairly easy schedule so far in league, facing both D Rays and Ambition in their first two games. But now it seems that this experienced roster is about to be tested for the next two weeks and possibly the rest of the regular season.

On paper, it looks like FlightAL is a solid team. The team is full of proven elite hitters including Puddles, ZachAtack, Kentucky, and Rbush. The team exploded against D Rays in the first two games, scoring a stunning 29 runs in those two games. But why does FlightAL manager still feel the weakest part of FlightAL right now is the offense?

“At this point, the weakest part of our team has been offense,” said Kentucky, who is managing FlightAL for the first time this league season. “Sure we had an explosion against Ambition, but from past elite experience, it takes double digit runs to win almost every game. In our only loss to BigHeros we fell behind 6 runs with only 2 innings left and the deficit was too much to make up. We need to get out early and if we do that, our pitching and defense is going to end up finishing the game out.”

Pitching may indeed be the strength of this team. DrDeath is showing once again he can dominate elite league even without max arm strength. Although it might be too early to say, DrDeath is still a potential candidate for an All-Aces Award. And as always, his bat has been solid, helping himself in each game.

Player to Watch For: ZachAtack entered this league with many people favoring him to lead the FlightAL offense. Unfortunately, Zach has not lived up to this statement and will need to do better over the next couple of weeks. He does have a lot of potential and no one will be surprised if he ends up having multiple homerun games against TechEast and maybe even Bombers.

D Rays (1-2)

Next 2 games: At Roto NL, At TechEast

The D Rays have had a rough start to the season but things could be changing very soon. Their main concern this league was with pitching, mainly because they did not have one. Now that MASIMO has been cleared to play, expect things to change very soon for this team.

“I think we have performed below our capabilities, said KeenanG, who is leading the D Rays squad in RBIs. “A lot of drama and lack of activity before games. Masimo is back and we will feed off of that.”

Offensively, D Rays is fairly solid. Mananger HAVERFORD has been consistent every game, getting on base and smashing home runs. KeenanG leads the team in homeruns and RBIs and is without a doubt, the best hitter on that team right now. In order for D Rays to be successful, they need to see more steady production from Tyrrel and Borrelli. Despite averaging only 7 runs per game, the D Rays offensive production should increase over the next couple of weeks.

Player to Watch For: Borrelli certainly has the bat that can get some timely hits against tougher teams. If he can manage to do so against a struggling Roto NL and perhaps TechEast, he could lead the team to a W.

Ambition (1-2)

Next 2 Games: At Lynx, vs RotoNL

Ambition gained their first win last week against D Rays, putting on a show with 14 runs. While their first two losses were at the very least disappointing, Ambition is anything but a weak team. Offensively, they are lead by manager h0w and Nos, who have both had previous elite experience. Canada has been a beast in PUG, and if his performance can carry on to league, he could be a very dangerous hitter come playoff time. Mattman13 and ConMan have also had solid seasons as well.

On paper, many would guess the problem with Ambition is with pitching. NLaLoosh is the sole pitcher on Ambition currently and is actually doing a very good job when you consider he is only a major pitching in elite league.

“I feel that most of my team would be a great fit into many elite teams,” said h0w in a well-written paragraph. “I have been getting approximately eight members to show up every game. Even many elite teams do not have those type numbers. As for our performance we do have to step up our all around performance. Our team has been particularly strong at the plate scoring 7, 6, and 14 runs in the first three games. Our pitching may seem weak to many, but NLaLoosh shows a lot of hope to keep the ball in the park, and that is the main goal of pitching. Our Fielding, has been our poison. Our pitching and hitting has kept us in games while errors in the field nullify our hitting and pitching performance. I think that for our team to be successful we need to step up our defensive performance. Everyone in the league makes the playoffs, the season is just time for my team to get chemistry. In the beginning i really didn’t who to play where, and who did well in league. I am starting to learn these key things about my team, and in my opinion we could be the dark horses in the playoffs. keep an eye out for us.”

Player to Watch For: Mattman13 will need to step up for his team if he wants to keep winning. He will need to continue to play solid defense and knock in some runs.

BigHeros (2-1)

Next 2 Games: vs Bombers, vs Lynx

The BigHeros have surprised some teams this elite league, beating FlightAL last week in a close game. While that game did bring some controversy over someone lagging, they are still credited with a win and will look to bring that momentum against Bombers Tuesday.

“Our hitting [is the strongest part of our team] when everyone is active and on target,” said manager Her0. “Nhr is on pace for 14 hr this season. so anywhere around that and league mvp isn’t out of the question.”

BigHeros have not been necessarily a powerhouse on offense but they have done enough to start the season with two wins. Scoring an average of 8 runs per game, the only lose that BigHeros suffered was against D Rays in week two which was embarrasing. However, they successfully used this as momentum against FlightAL and pulled off the upset.

Player to Watch For: SupaNova will need to continue to be a solid pitcher in order to give BigHeros a chance to win. He will have to bring his A game Tuesday against the power-hitting Bombers.

DwH (0-3)

Next 2 Games: At Rotowire, vs TechWest

DwH simply does not seem to care much about RBO anymore. A majority of their players are inactive and by speaking to the manager of the squad, Luckyme89, it seems most of them have actually quit RBO.

“Well [our season] has sucked pretty big donkey balls,” said ensferum, who is the only member of DwH that agreed to do an interview. “No one really plays much anymore.” When asked what he was expecting out of his team for the rest of the season, ensferum simply replied by saying “for them to show up.”

DwH has without a doubt suffered very disappointing losses this season. When they faced Carnage in Week Two, they lost to a walkoff homerun by BlindMan. And against Rage in Week Three, they also lost by one run. Pitching has been the bright side for DwH. RUGJUICE has only given up 22 runs this season-an average of about 7 runs per game-which is very good when you consider he is the only one pitching for DwH right now. If this team actually got active, they could develop into better hitters that can pick up RUGJUICE.

Player to Watch For: I cannot name only one player on DwH that needs to step up. It is not only their offense that needs work but also team chemistry and unity in general that needs work. This team is by far the weakest team in league currently and that does not look like it will improve any time soon.

FlightNL (3-0)

Next 2 games: vs TechWest, at Insanity

FlightNL remains the only undefeated in the West League, and only one of two teams that is undefeated thus far in league (Bombers). One of the main reasons for FlightNL’s success this league is their lights out pitching. The deadly 1-2 punch of SmokeOut and ElDuque has been spectacular each week this league, holding opponents to an amazing 3 runs per game.

“Having two established MVP league pitchers ready to go at any time throws a big curveball at our opponents every week,” said Papi. “I enjoy having the versatility to be able to switch them between the starter and reliever roles and have confidence they can both adapt to each role. SmokeOut has given up just 1 run through 9 innings so far, and Duque had an amazing complete game against Carnage holding the highly touted offense to 3 runs.”

Offense might be the only concern for FlightNL but they have been very consistant each week, scoring early in each game. Veteran hitters including Crede24 and Ebola strike fear into the pitcher’s heart every week and GATECH, ST3WERT, and Corv have all had solid seasons as well.

Player to Watch For: SmokeOut should continue his dominance over the next couple of weeks. Giving up 1 ER over 9 innings of work will make winning a whole lot easier for your team and look for SmokeOut to improve that stat against TechWest and Insanity.

Carnage (2-1)

Next 2 Games: vs Insanity, At Empire

Carnage started this season off hot but with the disappointing last week against FlightNL, their weakness has been exposed. Without HeadAke, Carnage is forced to rely solely on the Swedes (ToyBoy and GAWD) for offense. While both players have been exposed to elite league before, they will have to bring in runs each week in order for Carnage to claim victory.

“Obviously with HeadAke out, we look to Wiggy to set the tone for us offensively,” said Megatron who is managing Carnage in only its second elite season. “As far as stepping up their game and really taking this team by the horns, I would have to hold out hope that xXbnUtzXx can be that person, if he doesn’t it won’t be for lack of talent.”

Carnage has experienced some disappointment with pitching as well. While Megatron is doing the best he can as a starter, the long-awaited Sparkie has retired from RBO. While this move might not be that surprising, it certainly hurts Carnage. Megatron will have to hope he can get some help from ToyBoy nad Blindman.G

Player to Watch For: Just like Megatron said, Carnage will need to rely more on Wiggy to get runs. Wiggy is the only active member on Carnage that was part of the team’s run to the finals in Carnage’s first elite season. If Wiggy can use this experience to help him on the field, Carnage will have a fighting chance to make the finals yet again.

Rage (1-2)

Next 2 Games: At Empire, vs Rotowire

Rage is a team, though very unlikely, that can surprise some teams and pull off some upsets. Though the team is weak in batting, pitching, and defense, the team itself is trying to develop some team chemistry as many players are playing elite for the first time. They do have players that are experienced in league including manager rUafraid and RomeyC. The younger players, including GoHome96, Duster, and GoldGlvr is what obviously needs some work on both offense and defense.

“This team was developed a day or 2 before league actually started, and the dedication from some of the players just isn’t there. I say we can pull 3 wins if the team puts their minds to it. This is a practice season for us. Just want to see how things go,” said rUafraid who is managing an elite team for the first time.

rUafraid has also said he has some problems with defense. That is obviously expected with these new players but you never know: these players could develop into elite batters, playing solid defense while smashing homeruns. It might be too early to say but do not be surprised if Rage becomes a better team by the end of the season.

Player to Watch For: For offense, Rage will have to continue to depend on RomeyC to bring in runs.

Rotowire (1-2)

Next 2 Games: vs DwH, at Rage

Rotowire came an unacceptable loss against Empire last week. Leading 4-2 going into the top of the sixth, Rotowire pitcher Skoal blew the small two run lead and allowed Empire to tie it. FIRE911 would hole Rotowire in the bottom of the sixth and Empire would score one in the top of the seventh to take the lead. FIRE911 would close it out, giving up two hits in three innings of work.

The loss is beyond disappointing for Rotowire, who is in now serious jeopardy in not making the playoffs. On the surface it looks like pitching is what is failing for Rotowire. However, according to Skoal offense is whats wrong with Roto.

“To make the playoffs, we need to hit the fucking ball,” said Skoal who is pitching in his first elite season. “Getting SpliF and MiiG back will help, and I hope myself to put game 3 behind me, and go back to game 1/2 form.”

The season is looking rough for Rotowire but one must not forget how dominate this team once was. They have the experience and the veterans to make a late season run.

Player to Watch For: Boget pitched spectacular against Empire, proving that he is still possibly the “greatest of all-time.” If Boget can continue to pitch in Boget-form, it will be easy for Rotowire to defeat DwH and Rage.

TechWest (2-1)

Next 2 Games: At FlightNL, at DwH

TechWest, similar to their sister team TechEast, is also having a strong start to the season. Their offense has been fairly good. Led by Sandman16, the TechWest offense has managed to average 8 runs per game this season. TechWest also managed to pull off an upset against Empire in Week Two but they themselves were upsetted by Insanity in Week Three.

Pitching has been a little sloppy. With the exception of that Week Two game against Empire, the TechWest pitching staff has at least 8 runs each game. Pitching needs to improve for this team in order for them to make a run for the playoffs.

“We need to be more consistent with both offense and defense,” said TechWest manager Manny73, who did a fantastic job adding some power bats and consistent pitchers just before the season started. “I like to let everyone play so we all feel like we contribute to wins, not everyone plays the same, therefore you have different skill sets that work with some teams and some that don’t. As long as our pitching can hold the teams we are going to face from here I think we will be in good shape for a playoff spot.”

Player to Watch For: TechWest needs WCKDPERK to pitch a gem against FlightNL Tuesday. This task should not be too arduous for WCK if he can pitch just like he did against Empire.

Insanity (1-2)

Next 2 Games: At Carnage, vs FlightNL

Insanity was able to claim victory last week against TechWest, the club’s first win of the season. Part of the reason was Killerboy’s fantastic pitching. In 6 innings, he managed to hold TechWest to just one run. Killerboy has pitched consistantly all season, only having one game where he has given up more than double-digit runs (Week Two against Rotowire). Sadly, it has been the defense that has cost Insanity some games.

“Weakest part [of our team] is defense. We can”t afford small errors on the field. We know little errors can cost us a game. We will have team practices before games to warm up and be ready! As a team manager, i tell my players to have fun and play smart!” said Killerboy, manager of Insanity, in a hopeful and positive tone.

Insanity also has some hitters that can soon become the premier of elite batters. Simm and BATMANN are two young hitters that should continue to develop as the rest of the season progresses, RickyD and Dual have played elite league before and know what it takes to win. However, the person that stands out the most from Insanity is Colacino2. Colacino can play solid defense in right field and can change the game with just one swing. Colacino should also continue to develop throughout the season and have some big games in the process.

Players to Watch For: Killerboy will need to continue to set the tone for Insanity. By continuing to dominate on the mound, Killerboy will give his team a chance to win every week if he can hold opponents under double digit runs.

Empire (2-1)

Next 2 Games: vs Rage, vs Carnage

Empire came off a convincing win against Rotowire last week. That does not mean that this veteran has not had its share of problems. Offensive production has been without a doubt Empire’s weakness. Empire has struggled week after week to put runs on the board and have had to solely rely on the pitching trio of KMAN, Death, and FIRE911 to lead them to victory.

“When I made rosters for this league, I knowingly, purposely, stacked the Bombers offense,” said team manager MelkyNYY. “My expectations were to get my former MVP Kidnasty back on track, and rely on strong pitching and defense to lead the way. Unfortunately, D1Nonly2 is having personal problems, along with Frogger. KidNasty is playing Gunz and hitting like Scott925 and Pete998 has been inconsistent with his connection. That all adds up to a streaky and inconsistent unreliable offense. To improve, we just have to all show up and play the best we can.”

However, pitching has been amazing for Empire this season. With the exception of Week Two, Empire’s pitchers have held opponents under 5 runs. It is Empire’s offense that refuses to pick up Empire’s pitching staff. In no game this season has the offense given Empire’s pitchers a comfortable lead. This needs to change fast if Empire wants to make the playoffs.

Player to Watch For: KidNasty really needs to step up for this team. He must stop playing Gunz and become active in RBO again. He must discover what exactly is wrong with his timing and needs practice in order to perfect his timing. Most importantly, he needs to show his teammates why exactly he has 3 MVPs.

The MVP bracket of the Saturday and Sunday Sit and Go tournaments were dominated by the Empire and Bombers organization. Major teams such as Flight, Rotowire, and various others did not partake, but games were still played and winners were still crowned. The Sunday Tournament was very similar to its Saturday counterpart, yielding familiar faces in the winner’s circle.

Sunday Sit and Go I (Morning)

The Sunday morning tournament saw a Bombers and Empire final once again. Already meeting in the Saturday Sit and Go I Morning tournament, Bombers looked for vengeance and they did find just that. The Bombers high powered offense led by Jiraiya pounded 13 runs and let up only 6 as the Bronx Bombers defeated the New York Empire, taking home their second weekend tournament.

Sunday Sit and Go II (Night)

The evening saw a different story, as all the teams who signed up showed. The Semifinals lined up a fully loaded DRAYS team against a depleted Empire team, and a depleted Bombers team against a fully loaded Insanity team. The results were interesting to say the least. Empire managed 6 runs with two pitchers in the lineup. Led by KMAN’s 2 homeruns, the New York based ball club shot out to a 6 run lead. Fire911 falied to keep it close, as a few errors in the outfield by inexperienced fielders cost him a few runs. The DRAYS led by the bat of Haverford chipped away at the lead with solid hits into the outfield and a few infield singles. It was 6-5 in the bottom third when the DRAYS managed to mount a small rally and without one ball leaving the park, defeated Empire by the score of 7-6 in walkoff fashion as Borelli hit a Fire911 sinker to the wall in RF. OMAN failed to catch the routine liner and what plagued Empire the entire way cost them the game.

Bombers vs Insanity was an epic slugfest. Bombers only fielded three players: Cunning, BigJuddd, and GimmePie. BigJuddd aka The Panda Bear took the ball and allowed 8 runs to a very good non pitcher hitting Insanity lineup. TakeSeats had a 9 to 3 lead heading into the second, but quickly lost it as the Bomber’s offense scored 12 runs to top Insanity easily. The Bombers would once again face the DRAYS who they have been undefeated against in their last 4 meetings in tournament play.

ThePope shut down the DRAYS once again, allowing 3 runs over 3 innings, all runs in the third, leading the Bombers to a 5-3 victory. The offensive heroes for Bombers were Cunning (2 Homeruns) and BigJuddd (2 Homeruns). Masimo was unable to get into a groove the entire tournament and familiarity might have led to his demise. With the win, Bombers would win their 3rd tournament in 2 days, and their 3rd in 4 tries, appearing in all 4 finals and impressively winning games with and without a starting pitcher. Congrats to Bombers.

Thanks to the teams who showed and see you next time!

The last weekend in August saw two tournaments lead the charge. Two fairly small tournaments. Read on to find out which two teams claimed Saturday supremacy.

Saturday Sit and Go I Tournament (Morning)

The Saturday Sit and Go Tournament was a small but competitive tournament. Well….the games that WERE played that is. Empire, Bombers, and DRAYS were the final three teams, as Empire received a straight bye into the finals. Bombers routed DRAYS behind the arm of ThePope. The Asian Sensation and the first half of the Bronx Bombers “China Twins” threw three scoreless innings as his team managed 10 runs against the DRAYS. Offensive stars for the Bombers included JIraiya, Cunning, and Gimmepie. The DRAYS did manage 3 runs, all off of the bat of KeenanG. The DRAYS slugger continues to hit and hit well.

The Finals of the Saturday Sit and Go Tournament I was a closer one. Death vs ThePope…Asian vs Asian…and it was the battle of the year of the goat. Death threw a 1 run gem allowing an unearned run off of a few errors in the outfield. Big123 homered to LF and after a single by MelkyNYY, Death helped his own cause with a 2 run homerun of his own. Empire defeated their sisters in a 3-1 duel.

Saturday Sit and Go Tournament II (Night)

The night tournament saw the same 3 finalists, with a 4th, 5th, and 6th team there to help make things a bit more interesting. Empire, Bombers, DRAYS, Insanity, BigHeroes, and TechWest.

The two finalists of the morning tournament received byes, and the other four played it out in a Football style playoff. Insanity defeated BigHeroes 2-1 in a close game while the DRAYS outhit TechWest in a 4-3 effort. The Semifinals would match up Bombers and Insanity, and DRAYS and Empire.

Insanity lost on a heartbreaking walkoff homerun, and were not able to muster more than 4 runs off the non pitcher BigJuddd in the 3 inning contest. Empire could not figure out Masimo and failed to score a run in 3 innings. Haverford’s leadoff homerun was all that the DRAYS needed in a 1-0 victory.

The DRAYS and Bombers final was a rematch of the rout in the earlier stages, and matched up the same two pitchers once again. This time, ThePope showed his full All-Aces potential. ThePope tossed 3 shutout innings of 4 hit ball and his offense provided 2 runs in the victory. Whos’s double put runners on second and third for BigJuddd, who hit a sacrifice fly for the first run of the contest. That was all that was neccesary as solid defense by Cunning, BigJuddd, and GimmePie sealed the deal.

Bombers down TechEast

TechEast came ready to play against Lynx last Tuesday, but their offense didn’t seem to show up against the Bombers this week. In a 6-0 shutout the TechEast sluggers had almost no success against the Bombers pitching staff. Things won’t get an easier for TechEast as they will meet up with a mad FlightAL squad next week.

Final Score: Bombers 6, TechEast 0.

Lynx Plays Too Rough for Roto NL

For the 2nd straight week the Roto NL pitching staff got jacked up for double digit runs Things aren’t exactly looking positive for the NL squad as they are staring at an 0-3 record. Lynx was glad to get the monkey off their shoulders and pick up their 1st win of the season. Roto NL will get their share of the D Rays and Lynx will meet with Ambition next week. Both games look to be solid matchups.

Final Score: Lynx 13, Roto NL 5.

BigHeros Back to Their Old Ways

The BigHeros squad saw a win come against the East Conference powerhouse, FlightAL. The FlightAL pitching staff got hit for 10 runs and the offense was unable to bail them out. The BigHeros may have been a little desperate after a loss to D Rays the previous week but hopefully they will be back on track. They meet with the Bombers squad next week who will leave little room for mistakes.

Final Score: BigHeros 10, FlightAL 7.

Ambition Avoid D Rays Sting

Ambition is finally on the board after a confident win against the D Rays. The Ambition offense lit up for 14 runs and never looked back. The D Rays would like to do well against Elite League competition but they may just not have enough steam to consistently win. They do face the 0-3 Roto NL squad so their may be hope for them to return to a .500 record, but things may be falling apart.

Final Score: Ambition 14, D Rays 8.

DwH Falls One Donut Short

Rage was able to edge out DwH on Tuesday and pick up their 1st win of the season. Thievery may not be a skill that Rage specializes in but they flat out stole the victory from DwH. For the 2nd week in a row DwH lost by just a run. They’ll look for a glimmer of hope next week when they go up against RotoWire.

Final Score: Rage 7, DwH 6.

Empire Sneaks Past RotoWire

The Elite League sees a good amount of heat between teams and the RotoWire/Empire matchup is no anomaly. Each team had a small fire ignited within them to take the advantage against the other team. In the end both teams drew some respect for each other as Empire edged out RotoWire by just a run. With RotoWire looking good early, Empire fought their way back in late innings. Both the Empire and RotoWire squads are going to be tough teams come playoffs and a rematch may be in store. Only time will tell.

Final Score: Empire 5, RotoWire 4.

TechWest Struck with Insanity

TechWest just finished beating Empire and RotoWire but found themselves amuck against Insanity, Tuesday night. After putting up a combined 23 runs against RotoWire and Empire, TechWest could only muster 1 run against Insanity. Any team in the Elite League can beat anyone on any given night. No team is safe from an upset and perhaps Insanity will need to be favored more down the road.

Final Score: Insanity 8, TechWest 1.

FlightNL Able to Handle Carnage

Carnage has been slightly understaffed all season long and last week was able to escape with a walkoff HR from BlindMan. Unfortunately, FlightNL was not going to show any mercy against Carnage. The Carnage offense has yet to see an appearance from slugger HeadAke and is relying on the sexy Swedes (GAWD and ToyBoy) for production. FlightNL continued to pitch well and leads the Elite League with only 9 runs against through 3 games.

Final Score: FlightNL 12, Carnage 3.
